Los Angeles — Brie Larson uses her superpowers for good. The “Captain Marvel” star is one of the driving forces behind the new Disney+ series, “Growing Up.”

The program features inspiring stories from a diverse group of young people who are learning to embrace their true and authentic selves.

“It’s beyond my wildest dreams of being on this planet at the same time as these 11 people,” Larson said. “It’s just a lifetime privilege.”

These poignant and personal stories are made even more powerful by the select directors who gladly participated in this innovative documentary series. Yara Shahidi, who is famous for “The Black” and “Al Rasheda”, was up to the challenge.

“I’ve directed a movie before, but the style of the documentary is completely different,” the actress told On The Red Carpet.

“Growing Up” premieres September 8 on Disney+.

Disney is the parent company of this station.
